A mixed emotion post

Waiting has been hard recently...

Time is ticking by...

I need Father to continue to remind me that He is in control and has a plan!

On another more upbeat note.. Merry Christmas from our family to yours!

Words from Father and Michael Phillips...

A few encouraging words Father sent to me this morning by Michael Phillips from his amazing book, Make Me Like Jesus....

"To yield the will to the Creator represents the perfect expression of human freedom."

"Without realizing the full import of it, I was turning over my right to determine the course of my own life."

My life is in Fathers hands and if He decides that adoption/fostering is not for us and closes this chapter in our journey I am alright with this. I will let Him determine the course of my life!

Some very inspiring finds..

Lord,

I give up all my own plans and purposes, all my own desires and hopes, and
accept Thy will for my life. I give myself, my life, my all, utterly to
Thee to be Thine forever. Fill me and seal me with Thy Holy Spirit.
Use me as Thou wilt, send me where Thou wilt, work out Thy whole will in my life
at any cost, now and forever.
Amen

Trusting and Surrendering Brings Peace

Things are progressing slowly on the adoption front but we are continuing to trust God that He has a plan in all of this and will reveal it to us when the timing is right.

We officially (as of yesterday) are foster approved so we are waiting to see if God has any plans for us in the area of short term foster care.

We continue to learn just how much we are loved by our Papa, how Sovereign and Good He is and that trusting and surrendering our lives to Him (though difficult) is wonderful and brings peace to our hearts!

An Update and A Prayer Request...

It may actually be happening!!!

I hesitated and almost decided not to post this due to the fact that in this journey nothing is for certain! Our social worker was contacted by a certain child's worker about our family.. woo hoo!!! On Tuesday a group of people will get together and vote on the future of a little guy. Here is a message that our worker received after chatting with the child's worker..

This family sounds great and they live very close to -----! I will
present the ------ family to the adoption unit on 9/15 and get back
with you. I have several families to present but the ------ are the
only family with a stay at home parent. Here are a few more pictures of
------ you can share with the family.

I have taken out the names and will not be able to post his pictures simply to protect this little guy but I will update as soon as I know something more on Tuesday! Even though this all looks good I am reminded that I need to protect my heart and trust that God will work it all out according to His perfect plan!

Thank you all for listening to my ramblings and for joining us in prayer!

We are all on a Journey

Not a whole lot new here in our journey but we are pressing on and enjoying every moment as they come! Today we put together a list of the people that will help support us once we receive placement and the therapists that we are wanting to use. This "list" truly opened my eyes to how many wonderful people are in our lives and are traveling this journey along with us! Our lives all change throughout the years, we grow through our experiences even the painful and difficult ones! I look forward to seeing what our family will look like in a year from now. What will God have shown us? Though the growing may hurt a little I welcome it in hopes that I can know my Father more and realize even more about His amazing, unfailing love!
